The first few hours
Leave the wrap on for as long as your artist told you. Wash your hands before you take it off.
Washing
Gently, with lukewarm water and a mild unscented soap. Pat dry with a clean paper towel.
Moisturising
A thin layer of whatever your artist recommended, a few times a day. Less is more.
What to avoid
No soaking — baths, pools, hot tubs, the ocean — until it has healed. Keep it out of the sun. Do not pick or scratch.
Healing
Peeling and itching are normal. Most tattoos look settled in two to four weeks.
Something wrong?
Heavy redness, heat, swelling, or anything that worries you: call the shop, and see a doctor if it gets worse.
